Not the Best Experience with HostGator
I signed up with HostGator because I heard good things about their promotions. Honestly, the pricing is quite reasonable (I'd give it a solid 4). The features are also great for most needs, which is why I rated it a 4 as well. However, my overall experience has been mixed. The performance was average at best - 3 stars. One of the bigger issues for me has been customer support. I contacted them a couple of times and I was really disappointed. The agents seemed overwhelmed and took longer than expected to respond to my queries. I'd say they deserve only a 2 for support in my experience.
However, I ended up canceling the service and I was charged for a domain that was supposed to be 'free'. They didn’t let me transfer it to another registrar, which was super frustrating. I had to manage my DNS from their admin panel, and that was just annoying.
Look elsewhere for good hosting.
Hope this helps!
Best,
Connor

Wasted so much time with them
What an atrocious company!!! Every other page load my website would time out and their "support" just kept ignoring me and wasn't willing to help. They kept insisting that it was a problem on my side. After I moved my website elsewhere the problem miraculously disappeared. So yeah, it was a problem on my side - the problem was that I didn't ditch you guys sooner. What a joke of hosting company...Eric O.

A happy long term customer
While the prices are acceptable, it was a lot cheaper when I first signed up. A discount for loyal customers would be appreciated!Performance wise, my site's speed has remained the same over the years, which is good. The features they offer are enough for my needs, and I love how easy it is to use the interface. I haven't had much interaction with customer support, but when I did reach out, they were great and very helpful.

Not recommended at all
What a terrible company!!! They want to charge me triple if not more of my original price. For what?! The service hasn't improved three times to warrant such an increase. Save yourself the stress and avoid Host Gator!I am glad I am gone!

Not what it used to be
After 6 years, but I’ve finally decided to move on. The pricing is decent at least, but the performance has really dropped. My site loads slow now, which is very annoying. The features are ok, but I wish there were more options without paying extra. Customer support is hit or miss: sometimes they are helpful, other times not so much. I can't keep dealing with the issues. Time for a change!Lindsay J.

Decent Hosting, But Support Needs Work
HostGator has great pricing and solid performance for my website. Definitely enough for what I need. However, I was really let down by their customer support. They didn't seem to understand my issues and kept beating around the bush instead of offering clear solutions. It was frustrating. Their control panel is ok, but I've used better. It's a mixed bag. If you can figure things out on your own, you'll be fine.Liam J.

Not horrible, but support needs major improvement!
We have been using HostGator for a little over a year now, and overall, we are somewhat satisfied. The performance of the hosting is quite good, my website loads pretty fast, which is crucial for our shop. However, the pricing is a bit on the higher side for what you get compared to other companies. One major downside for me has been their customer support. I've had to reach out a few times for help with issues, and honestly, the experience was pretty disappointing. The wait times were longer than I expected, and once I got through, the responses felt a bit robotic and didn't really solve my problem right away.
On a positive note, the interface is user-friendly, which is great for someone like me who isn't a tech wizard. So if you’re looking for something that's easy to use with decent performance, HostGator could be a good option. Just keep in mind that you might struggle with their support when you need help.
Overall, I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5.

Solid features but performance NEEDS a boost
We've moved our websites to HostGator last year and overall it's been an okay experience. The pricing is pretty competitive, which I appreciate, and they offer a good range of features that help me manage my site effectively. However I've noticed that the performance can be a bit inconsistent, with occasional significant slowdowns that sometime makes our websites unusable. The support is also inconsistent—sometimes they're really helpful, and other times it feels like they're just going through the motions. On the plus side the platform is fairly easy to use, even for someone like me who's not super tech-savvy. I'd recommend it if you're on a budget but don't expect lightning-fast service all the time.Dan K.

Gets the job done
Overall they're alright with decent prices and features, but their performance and customer service could use some workShowing 1 to 10 of 12 results
